DIOR MEN LUNAR CAPSULE dreamed up for the Lunar New Year

Perpetuating the dialogue initiated between Kim Jones and ERL for the Dior Spring 2023 menswear show, the House unveils an exclusive capsule in conjunction with the Lunar New Year.

Inhabited by a joyful dynamic, this men’s collection is an ode to the Water Hare – the Chinese zodiac sign for 2023 – reinterpreted by the unprecedented and resolutely pop design of Eli Russell Linnetz. Metamorphosed into a patch of furry effect, this symbol can be found in oversized version on knit sweaters, as well as being subtly deployed on shirts, shorts and a flocked denim ensemble composed of an overshirt and baggy pants, evoking the Californian spirit of the Spring 2023 line.

The pieces are sublimated by a predominately red palette, dear to Christian Dior – who saw it as “the color of life” according to his own words in his Petit Dictionnaire de la Mode – accentuated here by delicate touches of gold.

The hare motif also embellishes the B27 Low Top sneakers; the quilted Dior Oblique Mirage canvas of the Lingot 22 bag – in a tantalising red-tone monochrome variation –, without forgetting the B23 sneakers and the Saddle Venice bag, reinvented in an extraordinarily soft version, entirely adorned with shearling. Irresistible models, the elaboration of which demanded a specific technique of marqueterie, exalting both the inventiveness of the House and the excellence of its ateliers.
